We are very excited to be heading to the Choo Choo Winter Makers Market in Mirboo North this weekend, on Saturday 30th from 9am – 2pm. This is a very special market, as it is the major fundraiser for the Mirboo North Playgroup. The fantastic team of playgroup parent volunteers have organised a wonderful day with stalls featuring talented makers and their products, and great activities for the kids. There are raffles with great prizes, an all day BBQ, and friendly happy faces all round. All proceeds raised go towards the Mirboo North Playgroup, which as many locals would know, is a brilliant and much needed part of the community. The weather is shaping up to be good, though with the market being held indoors at the Mirboo North Shire Hall everyone can be warm and snug anyway. So come along if you can, meet some makers, see and purchase some beautiful articles, and support our local Playgroup!
If you are wondering how the name Choo Choo came about, well, this is because the Playgroup is held twice a week in the old railway station building in Mirboo North. One of its standout features is the train in the outside play area, painted up as Thomas the Tank Engine. Even before we moved to Mirboo North, our kids knew and spoke of the train and looked forward to seeing it when we stopped in town.
We will have a range of our sourdoughs available, healthy and wholesome and perfect for this wintery weather! I hope to see you there 🙂
