We attended the Traralgon 50 Mile Farmers Market for the first time last Saturday. It was a great day, and a fantastic spot for a market, in and around the VRI Hall with trains occasionally rolling slowly past, and next to the tennis courts full of sunflowers. It was lovely to meet new people and see new faces, and some familiar ones, on such a beautiful sunny day. I had an awesome little helper in our son Lucas, who was good on the money exchanging part of things, with a little guidance, and knows his bread very well! He keeps a close eye on what we might be getting low on, or how much we’ve sold of a certain type, as well as being a reliable taste tester and great company. Liam and Stella accompanied Greg on the delivery rounds, ending at Grow Lightly with morning tea and a play on the playground.
Greg is milling grain ready for Fridays bake. We have got an extra bake this week as well; with the third Mossvale Market coming up this Sunday. Being Valentines Day, we might have to bring along some lovely dark reddish pink beetroot loaves, probably the closest thing we can get to red roses or pink chocolate hearts………
