It has been a busy week, bringing all the ends together and getting things ready for our first bake on Monday. Our lovely old spiral mixer has been cleaned and given some TLC. Greg picked up our first pallet load of grain this afternoon, all unloaded and ready for milling and mixing. We have piles of dry pine branches and stacks of hardwood ready for firing the oven. Soon I will put some wheat to soak for sprouting for our Seeds and Sprouts loaf. Once baked, they add a fantastic sweet taste and nutty texture to the bread.
