Traralgon 50 Mile Farmers Market

Last Saturday we went to the Traralgon 50 Mile Farmers Market, at the VRI in Queens Parade. Set inside and outside of the beautiful old hall, there was a really good selection of local producers. Free range heritage pork, free range and organic eggs, preserves, soap, pastries and sweet treats, bagels, fruit and veg, and others, along with a sausage sizzle. Good live music in the hall, face painting, and friendly stall holders with the time to chat to customers, helped create a wonderful, warm atmosphere on what was otherwise a very chilly day! I had my little helper Lucas who truly loves coming along and doing jobs; stamping bags, taking money and giving change, sampling ours and others produce. We had a great morning and look forward to the next market there. The next day the kids helped make kiwi fruit jam with some home grown kiwi fruit from the market, made with organic raw sugar, enjoyed later in the afternoon with scones and cream…….
